My Testimony / My Story...

My name is Lisa Young. In October of 2007, the month of my 44th birthday, I was diagnosed with Stage II-B HER2-positive breast cancer. By the Grace of God, I am a survivor! Even though today I still suffer with nerve damage caused by the treatment, I thank God that I am victorious through Him! It took that devastating journey to make me draw so close to and become totally dependent on the Lord.

Through that experience God gave me many inspirational songs of hope, to write, and even gave me the melody for many. While on the journey, I encouraged others that were getting treated for the disease in the same room beside me, by sharing the songs of hope God had given me to write. I would wake up at about 4 am several nights a week, with a dream of a song and get up and write the lyrics down. I said to myself, if I ever have an album I would call it “God Inspired – 4 am.” God had given me over 60 songs. I’ve always loved singing and writing since I was a child, it is part of the gifting in my family and I believe something I am called to do.

My singing and confidence to do so, has improved vastly over the years, and I still do it today as a source of inner joy and to be an inspiration to others. After my journey I felt compelled to join the Praise Team at my church which I sang with for several years, and then began singing with a local ministry band called DayStar, which was a local praise & worship band and we ministered at a local homeless/outreach ministry the 3rd Sunday of every month. I did that for 7 years, up until the end of last year.

For several years now, I have been providing singing entertainment to several Assisted Living Facilities in my area, in the form of a sing to/sing-along show, bringing back some joyful and precious memories  into the lives of the elderly residents by singing inspirational songs of worship and songs of their time.

I would like to share one of my "testimony" songs that God gave me while going through my cancer journey, which I posted on YouTube. This song speaks of finding faith in the midst of tribulation, and it's called “A Higher Place”. Here is the link to the video:

I don’t believe the Lord is finished with me yet as far as my writing and singing are concerned. I have written about 100 poems throughout my life, some of which I am sharing with you now through this site, and I continue to write today. I am also working on a recording contract and aiming to release a few of the songs God had give me through my cancer journey. Stay tuned!

Besides singing, my other passion is writing, which includes songwriting, but I have been writing poetry since I was 15 years old, which is why I decided to start this business, "Creative-inspirations-by-Lisa".

I believe we are all here for a purpose and when you find that certain something that you would rather do more than anything else, and that brings you inner peace and joy, and may bring others peace and joy as well, that most likely is the thing you were created to do!

I pray that the Lord helps me to continue with these giftings and that they be used to inspire and encourage others with the hope that there is something greater than our trials that can help us be victorious through all the trials of life, and that is, putting our trust and faith in Jesus! Blessings!

Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

Thank You Jesus!!
